The next era of Gulf commerce
Shopping online in the Gulf should feel effortless. It often doesn't.
We live in one of the most digitally advanced regions in the world. Phones are everywhere, payments are going digital fast and shoppers expect a lot. Yet buying online can still feel like hard work: lots of searching, comparing, switching between apps and repeating the same steps over and over.
AI is about to change that. It already helps people discover and decide. The next step is helping them actually get things done. Whoever gets that right in the Gulf will shape how millions of people shop.
That's the problem we're working on at 808labs.
We're building AI products for the region, made around how people here actually shop, pay and live. Not imported solutions with a translation bolted on, but technology built in the Gulf, for the Gulf.
Our goal is simple: build useful AI products that people actually use and pay for. Commerce is where we start, not where we stop.
We're also backing builders. Through 808 Ventures, we work with strong engineers and founders who have the talent and the idea, and need capital, commercial direction, a team or distribution to bring it to market.
We'll share more soon. Until then, if you're a merchant, a payments or fintech team, a platform thinking about commerce, or a builder with an idea worth backing, my inbox is open.
The future of commerce in the Gulf is being built right now. We intend to be part of it.
