Why “The 808 Beat”?
It is a nod to the 808 drum machine and to a news beat: a subject you follow closely enough to distinguish a meaningful shift from background noise.
We want to follow the connections between these industries. A new AI capability can change how people discover products. A payment change can influence how an app handles checkout. A local startup can show how an idea works in a particular market.
What we will cover

Our approach
Our planned rhythm is one post every six days. Each industry update will link to its sources, distinguish an announcement from a live product, and separate our interpretation from the underlying facts. We will correct material errors and mark substantive updates.
